Dark patina and bruising on the IGSM, original ribbons, mounted to a suspension with swing bar pinback, as worn by the veteran, light contact, better than very fine. \nFootnote: Amir Ali joined the Indian Mountain Artillery as a Gunner, on February 21, 1921 and was promoted to Jemadar with the 19th (Maymyo) Indian Mountain Battery, Royal Artillery at Fort Sanderman on October 21, 1936. The Battery moved to Rawalpindi on March 27, 1937 and by May, the Battery was part of the 25th Mountain Brigade, Royal Artillery Wazirforce, consisting of the 1st (Indian) Division and the Waziristan Division. Bannu Brigade left Ghariom at 0445 hours on May 27, 1937, supported by the 7th and 19th Mountain Batteries, with the first day's objective being Pasal, which was reached by transport at 1245 hours. The advance was opposed, at times in strength, but the brigade was in camp by 1800 hours, with total casualties of seven killed and twenty wounded. The Bannu Brigade moved to Arsalkot on May 28th and destroyed that village, returning to Pasal by 1900 hours. The operation had been carried out successfully, with the Tori Khels submitting. In June 1939, the 19th Battery was part of Razcol and along with the 8th (Lahore) Mountain Battery was attached in support of the 3rd Infantry Brigade, which had moved out from Gardaí on June 2, 1938, to attack a lashkar which had burnt the Khassadar post at Datta Khel and was investgating the Scout post. The fire was heavy but the infantry attained their objective supported by the two batteries. The Battery, along with the 8th (Lahore) Mountain Battery found themselves under fire from enemy artillery at about 1900 yards on June 15th and silenced it in fifteen minutes. In January 1939, Ali was serving in the 25th Mountain Regiment, Royal Artillery at Abbotobad and by the beginning of WWII, his Regiment was stationed in Waziristan where it was to remain through 1941. The Regiment proceeded to Quetta in 1942 and in May 1943 until the end of the war, it served in Burma with the 7th Indian Division, taking part in the Second Arakan Campaign. In early February 1944, the 25th Indian Mountain Regiment was in support of the 114th Indian Infantry Brigade, located on Pyinshe Ridge about one mile north of the village of Tatmakhali. It was here that they encountered heavy Japanese resistance on February 4th and by nightfall, were victorious over their Japanese opposition. In November 1944, the 19th Mountain Battery left the 25th Indian Mountain Regiment and helped to form the 35th Indian Mountain Regiment in the 25th Indian Division. Two months later, in January 1945, the 19th Mountain Battery along with the 34th Mountain Battery joined the 82nd (West African) Division for the operations against Myohaung, which was captured on January 25th and the two batteries were sent to Akyab to rejoin their regiment. On the Mayu Front in Burma, the 25th Indian Division was opposed by the Japanese 55th Division Infantry Group. The 33rd Indian Mountain Regiment was under the 53rd Infantry Brigade that had been trained for an amphibious assault on the north-west corner of Akyab Island, to be captured by the capture of Akyab from the landward side. The Brigade travelled downstream with speed and the town and harbour fell on January 4, 1945. The Battery left Burma in mid-1945 with the 19th Mountain Battery reaching Calcutta, India in May. Ali is confirmed on the Indian Army Lists as being with the 19th (Maymyo) Mountain Battery, Royal Artillery at Rawalpindi (October 1937), with the 5th (Bombay) Mountain Battery, Royal Artillery at Abbotabad (July 1938 and January 1939), with the 25th Mountain Regiment, Royal Artillery at Abbotabad (July 1939 and October 1939) and with the 5th (Bombay) Mountain Battery, Royal Artillery (April 1940).","brand":"eMedals","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":46110377181461,"sku":"W1532","price":325.0,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":false}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0713\/9105\/2053\/files\/9_6ad8f760-eae4-4e8e-b1ee-1f11a3362fbe.jpg?v=1692846361"},{"product_id":"wwi-war-medal-indian-painter-corps-gb2806","title":"Wwi War Medal - Indian Painter Corps","description":"WWI War Medal - Bronze version, (174 PTR. He was one of the founders and the first president of the All-India Muslim League (AIML). His goal was the advancement of Muslim agendas and protection of Muslim rights in India. The League, until the late 1930s, was not a large organization but represented the landed and commercial Muslim interests of the British-ruled \"United Provinces\" (today Uttar Pradesh). He shared Sir Syed Ahmad Khan's belief that Muslims should first build up their social capital through advanced education before engaging in politics. Aga Khan called on the British Raj to consider Muslims to be a separate nation within India, the so-called \"Two Nation Theory\". Even after he resigned as president of the AIML in 1912, he still exerted major influence on its policies and agendas. He was nominated to represent India to the League of Nations in 1932 and served as President of the League of Nations from 1937 to1938. Under the leadership of Sir Sultan Muhammad Shah, Aga Khan III, the first half of the twentieth century was a period of significant development for the Ismā'īlī community. Numerous institutions for social and economic development were established in the Indian Subcontinent and in East Africa. Ismailis have marked the Jubilees of their Imāms with public celebrations, which are symbolic affirmations of the ties that link the Ismāʿīlī Imām and his followers. Although the Jubilees have no religious significance, they serve to reaffirm the Imamat's worldwide commitment to the improvement of the quality of human life, especially in the developing countries. The Jubilees of Sir Sultan Muhammad Shah, Aga Khan III, are well remembered. During his 72 years of Imamat (1885-1957), the community celebrated his Golden (1937), Diamond (1946) and Platinum (1954) Jubilees. To show their appreciation and affection, the Ismā'īliyya weighed their Imam in gold, diamonds and, symbolically, in platinum, respectively, the proceeds of which were used to further develop major social welfare and development institutions in Asia and Africa.\u003c\/p\u003e","brand":"eMedals","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":46125691470101,"sku":"W5564","price":135.0,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":false}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0713\/9105\/2053\/files\/c18-053062.jpg?v=1692883368"},{"product_id":"india-balawalpur-sadiq-muhammad-khan-v-silver-jubilee-medal-1931-w5846","title":"India, Balawalpur. He became the Nawab on the death of his father, when he was only three years old. A Council of Regency, with Sir Rahim Bakhsh as its President, ruled on his behalf until 1924. The Nawab served as an officer with the British Indian Army, fighting in the Third Afghan War (1919) and commanding forces in the Middle East during the Second World War. Under his rule, Bahawalpur State comprised an area larger than Denmark or Belgium. By 1947, its institutions consisted of departments run by trained civil servants; there was a Ministerial Cabinet headed by a Prime Minister; the State Bank was the Bank of Bahawalpur, with branches outside the State, including Karachi, Lahore; there was a high court and lower courts; a trained police force and an army commanded by officers trained at the Royal Indian Military Academy at Dehra Doon. The Nawab had a keen interest in education, which was free till A level and the State’s Government provided scholarships of merit for higher education. However, on October 3, 1947, after some delay, he relented, and became the first ruler of a princely state to accede successfully. As tens of thousands of Muslim refugees flooded into the state from the new India, he set up the Ameer of Bahawalpur Refugee Relief and Rehabilitation Fund to provide for their relief. In 1953, the Ameer represented Pakistan at the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II. In 1955 he signed an agreement with the Governor-General of Pakistan, Malik Ghulam Muhammad, under which Bahawalpur became part of the province of West Pakistan, with effect from October 14, 1955, and the Ameer received a yearly privy purse of 32 lakhs of rupees, keeping his titles.
