Three gilt bronze pips occupy the bed of each epaulet, which are in turn ringed by a crescent of silver. Undernearth the crescents, a plethora of silver braids is sown firmly into the outer ring to hang by gravity when in use. The underside of the epaulets is composed of a thick padding covered by red felt, ending on the narrow end with a metallic hook for attaching them to a uniform, complemented on the opposite side by a decorative button. A stiff piece of metal inside the epaulets prevents them from bending or bowing during wear. The epaulets measure 187 mm in length, and are 124 mm at their widest point. Accompanied by its case, constructed of stiff cardstock, with a lightly textured dark green faux leather (leatherette) exterior, with a light blue coloured interior with a base in the middle of the case for the epaulets to rest on, measuring 154 mm (l)  x 305 mm (w) x 140 mm (h). The epaulets with minor tarnishing of the silver crescents and bronze stars is evident, and there is slight fraying of the string attaching one of the decorative buttons.
