(Орден за Военна Заслуга). Instituted May 18th, 1900. A red enameled cross with swords through the center of the award, constructed of silvered bronze and multi-coloured enamels, the obverse with a central red medallion bearing the monogram of its founder, Ferdinand I of Bulgaria, surrounded by a ring of green enamels inscribed “ЗА ВОЕННА ЗАСЛУГА”, the reverse with a central red enameled medallion bearing a silvered rampant crowned lion, surrounded by a ring of green enamels inscribed “2 АВГУСТЪ 1891”, suspended of a pierced ball suspension and swivel ring from a tri-fold ribbon, unmarked, measuring 48.9 mm (w) x 52.7 mm (l), with minor enamel repair on obverse 12 o'clock arm, small flake to reverse 6 o'clock arm, remains very fine.
Accompanied by a presentation case, constructed of a lightweight wooden core, with a red faux leather exterior, the exterior of the lid inscribed with the name and class of the award in golden coloured ink, the interior of the lid lined with off-white cotton material, with an intact elongated exterior metal hinge, intact interior hinge cover, recessed off-white felt medal bed, and functional exterior metal clasp closure, fine.
