An Early SS EM Belt Buckle by Overhoff & Cie with Black Belt

Item #G19927

An early nickel SS enlisted man's belt buckle, 63mm x 48mm, by Overhoff & Cie (marked on reverse of the buckle "O & C ges. gesch."), in worn condition, with good details, with nice old patina; with black belt, 45mm wide, without any visible markings, in well-worn condition, approx. 100 cm in length. A textbook example by this maker, and these early examples are getting harder to find.

From the collection of approximately 900 German buckles accumulated by John R. Angolia, who start collecting buckles, belts and brocades from 1944 until around 1990; most of the buckles were obtained from the American and German veterans; most of these buckles present a core of Angolia’s book “Belt Buckles & Brocades of the Third Reich”, published in 2001.
