Germany, Heer. A Private Wartime Heer Photo Album

Item #G48450

(Heer Fotoalbum). A well-preserved Heer private wartime photo album, constructed of a multi-piece binding in the form of two large pieces of card stock with glossed exteriors and a full-colour lithograph on the cover. It is secured together through the edges and spine with perforated holes through which is looped a white rayon drawstring, firmly maintaining the structure. The interior features 17 black card stock pages pasted with 54 black-and-white private photos of Heer personnel training and at leisure in Germany and occupied France, including artillery and motorcycle units, with single photos and studio portraits of personnel (including one of an NCO wearing the German Cross). The album is fully unmarked and undated and measures 225 mm (w) x 162 mm (h). There are no indications of missing or replaced photos, and only minor signs of material fatigue are evident. An interesting and comprehensive album in overall extremely fine condition.
