Layaway Policy

A minimum deposit of 30% of the total price of your order including all applicable taxes and Buyer’s Premium, is due at the time of initial purchase. The total price of your order must be paid within three months from the date of original purchase.

You may make additional payments at any time by accessing the Layaway section in your account or by calling our office and submitting payment details.

Your contract will be automatically cancelled and ordered merchandise will be returned to inventory if full payment is not submitted by the three (3) month deadline.

What's a max bid?

Your maximum bid should be the highest amount you're willing to pay for an item.

Your entered maximum bid will not be disclosed to the seller or other auction participants at any point.

Max bidding example:

If the current auction price is $100 dollars and you place a maximum bid of $120 dollars, the system will bid $101 dollars on your behalf.

If no other participant places a bid, you win that auction lot for $101 dollars.

If another auction participant places a bid of $110 dollars, the system will subsequently place a bid of $111 dollars on your behalf. The system will continue to bid in $1.00 dollar increments until your maximum bid of $120 dollars is exceeded.

If another auction participant places a bid for $125 dollars, the auction lot price will display $121 dollars having exceeded your previously submitted maximum bid by $1.00 dollar.

Buyer's Premium

All bids are subject to a Buyer's Premium which is in addition to the placed successful bid. The following rate of Buyer's Premium will be added to the Hammer Price of each Lot that you purchase:

(Herzoglich Braunschweigischer Orden Heinrichs des Löwen). Instituted 1834. Issued 1834-1918. A hollow Gold commanders neck badge, consisting of a blue enameled Maltese cross with Gold boarders and ball finials, delicately hand painted peacock feathers on each arm with a crowned royal cipher of Wilhel in each quadrant, obverse centre with a finely hand painted Hanovarian horse on a red enameled background with a hand painted white boarder, reverse centre presenting Motto “IMMOTA FIDES”, with Roman numeral institution date surround, measuring 56 mm (w) x 81 mm (h - inclusive of detailed Gold Hanoverian crown adorned by cross), on short section of mid 20th century ribbon, 29.0 grams, with light enamel wear and minor loss to obverse red centre, otherwise extremely fine. Accompanied by the Grand Commander star, in silver, consisting of a large Maltese cross with ball finials, with five individual rays and a pebbled background on each arm, with a gilt crowned royal cipher of Wilhel in each quadrant, obverse centre presenting the Order Motto “IMMOTA FIDES” on a red enamel background, Roman numeral institution date at 6'clock centre, reverse centre featuring a fine dual pin assembly and dual catch, makers cartouche of F.Siebrecht, hallmarked with crescent moon, crown, 900, and S, measuring 72 mm (w) x 73 mm (h), toned silver on both obverse and reverse, extremely fine. 

This offering is a part of the "Dr. Albert Goodwin Collection", a preeminent assemblage of world Orders, Medals, and Decorations composed solely by Dr.Goodwin between 1946-1967. Dr. Goodwin had a successful career as an educator and prominent physician in New York as well as actively serving in both World Wars with the United States Medical Corps. He acted as both President and Vice-President of the Orders and Medals Society of America (OMSA) and is responsible for organizing their first convention in 1960. He maintained further membership with the American Society of Military Collectors, the International Orders Research Society, and the American Numismatic Society.
