ASS. NAZ. ARDITI D'ITALIA Standard - This banner is fabricated from cloth and accented with gold bullion, with two distinct sides. The front is black cloth with two arched rows of lettering done in gold bullion. The top row is inscribed "ASS. NAZ. ARDITI D'ITALIA" (National Asociation of the Arditi of Italy), while the bottom row is inscribed "FEDERAZIONE DI MILANO" (Federation of Milan). In between is the Italian battle insignia displaying an upward pointing sword, with a reinforced silver fabric blade, plus the designation "FERT" (Motto of the Royal House of Italy) in black thread on the raised gold bullion crossguard. The sword is flanked by gold bullion crossed branches, forming a wreath. The reverse has a representation of the Italian flag, formed by green, white and red vertical stripes. The banner is framed in gold trim on three sides and silver trim along the bottom, highlighted by an 82 mm long fringe along the entire bottom edge. It is suspended by four 60 mm wide cloth straps, holding the banner in place around a steel rod. The rod has a square hole in the centre, which was used for placement upon a pole, in order to be carried in full view, while both ends of the pole having sustained marks from previous usage. Each end has a loop welded in place, with a gold cord fed through, with intricate-laced gold tassels suspended from either end. The banner measures 550 mm x 720 mm overall, inclusive of the fringe. Although there is some wear and soiling evident, in near VF.
