China (Republic), United States; This cap is fabricated from an olive green wool, incorporating a 42 mm wide band in a beige cotton/wool blend around the circumference, designed with a high peak and finished with a reinforcing strip creating the framework. There are two smooth-finished chocolate brown leather straps and two fixed sliders creating the chin strap, slotted at the ends, secured on both sides by bronze gilt buttons bearing the Republic of China star insignia. Immediately above the buttons on both sides are two reinforced ventilation holes with dark brown painted metal eyelets. The front has a 72.5 mm (w) x 75 mm (h) Republic of China Air Force (ROCAF) insignia in gold-coloured bullion wire on blue and black wool. Flat visor with a stiffener, the upper in chocolate brown leather, matching the chin strap, the underside in dark brown leather. Inside, the sidewalls are lined in a champagne-coloured rayon, the cap incorporating a wide chocolate brown leather sweatband, embossed with the "Stand-Sheek" maker mark, the two ends of the sweatband meeting together at the rear and finished with a bright brown bow-tied ribbon. It appears to be a size 7 1/2. The dome has a reddish-brown moisture-resistant liner, maker marked in black ink with the "Modell's 198 BROADWAY AND 243 W. 42nd ST. NEW YORK, N.Y." manufacturer's mark on the dome under the liner.
