China (Republic), United States; This cap is fabricated from a khaki twill, incorporating a 40 mm wide band in a beige cotton/wool blend around the circumference, designed with a high peak and finished with a reinforcing strip creating the framework. There are two smooth-finished chocolate brown leather straps and two fixed sliders creating the chin strap, slotted at the ends, secured on both sides by bronze buttons bearing the Republic of China star insignia. Immediately above the buttons on both sides are two reinforced ventilation holes with greenish brown painted metal eyelets. The front has a 45 mm (w) x 60.3 mm (h) silvered with blue and white painted metal Republic of China Air Force (ROCAF) insignia, with chipping evident in the white paint and exposing an underlying red propeller insignia. Flat visor with a stiffener, the upper in chocolate brown leather, matching the chin strap, the underside in light brown suede. Inside, the sidewalls are lined in a champagne-coloured rayon, the cap incorporating a wide mid-tone brown leather sweatband, the two ends of the sweatband meeting together at the rear and finished with a beige bow-tied ribbon. The dome has a reddish-brown moisture-resistant liner with a size "7" label printed in black ink affixed in the centre under the liner. The cap measures 260 mm wide x 270 mm deep x 110 mm in height overall, exhibiting flaking in the white paint on the ROCAF insignia, with light contact on the light brown suede underside of the visor, the reddish-brown moisture-resistant liner exhibiting bubbling and minor residue from storage. It is very clean, near extremely fine.
