An 1827 Italian Patriarch of Venice Ladislaus Pyrker Medal - Silvered bronze, very high relief, engraver marked "A. FABRIS. VTINENSIS. SCVLT.", obverse illustrating the left-facing bust of Ladislaus Pyrker, Patriarch of Venice, surrounded by the inscription "LADISLAO PYRKERIO PATRIARCHCHAL VENETIARVM", reverse illustrating a collage of icons above the inscription "VIRO DOCTRINA PRVDENTIA GRAVITATE PROBATISSIMO PATRIMONII PAVPERVM STRENVO ASSERTORI QVINDECIMVIRI MENDICICITATE EX VRBE TOLLENDA VT TANTI PRAESIDIS AGRIENSEM PONTIFICATVM ADEVNTIS NOMEN HONOS BENEFACTA AETERNARENTVR" and dated "MDCCCXXVII" (1827), 52.5 mm, light contact and silvering wear, very fine. Footnote: Ladislaus Pyrker was a Hungarian Cistercian Archbishop and Poet.
