Two-piece construction, silver with blue and white enamels, number engraved "659" on the reverse, 37.2 mm, original ribbon, intact enamels, white enamels on the arms have faded to an ivory-look, extremely fine. Footnote: This cross is awarded to commissioned officers of the South African Defence Force or related forces who contributed to the security of the nation, in recognition of outstanding service of the highest order and the utmost devotion to duty displayed in time of peace or war.
