A WWI Honor Goblet Document Group to the 24th Figther Squadron

A WWI Honor Goblet Document Group to the 24th Figther Squadron;  Helmut Lange Grouping, First War Flying Ace: Flugbuch starting with his training in 1917, 31 pages, very fine condition; Shooting Book, in very fine condition; Soldbuch, 17 pages, slightly worn condition; Album with 55 original fantastic aviation photos; 1916 letter from his parents; two large sheets plotting the success of the Squadron; note from his father signing off on Helmut joining the Army in 1914; Certificate from a Berlin Gymnasium: Lange was born on December 4th, 1896 in Berlin. His father signed off on his joining the Army in 1914, after completing year long program at the Sophien-Realgymnasium in Berlin with acceptable grades. According to his Flugbuch he started training with the Imperial Air Force on board the Albatros. In the same year, Jagdstaffel 26 was founded, and Lange joined as a Leutnant. Between March and November of the following year he won 9 victories against British and French opponents, including Sopwith Camels, Dolphins, and an SPAD. At unknown dates he was awarded the Iron Cross and the Friedrich August Cross. On April 20th, 1918, he received a document for the Honour Goblet of the Imperial Air Force. By that time of the war it was more common for pilot recipients to receive only the document, and not the goblet itself. His name is not recorded among the casualties of his unit, though it us unknown what became of him by the end of the war.  For Price please email info@emedals.com
