A "Vet Bring Back" Army (Heer) Dagger
Army (Heer) Dagger - This dagger features a 260 mm nickel-plated steel blade, with unsharpened edges, remaining bright and crisp, and having a very sharp tip. The blade's ricasso is unmarked. It retains its crossgraining, exhibiting surface wear near the tip, in addition to faint scratches overall, common to extraction and return to the scabbard, and a natural shine, in fine condition. Their is seperation between the blade and the thick brown leather washer at the crossguard junction. The washer is relatively supple for its age and is intact. Crossguard and pommel exhibit contact and gilt wear, while the yellowish-orange synthetic grip features a series of ten parallel ridges and is free of cracks but does exhibit the same expected contact marks. It comes with a silver bullion and aluminum portapee, with extensive fraying evident in the threading on the cord just below the junction with the stem. The scabbard is straight, with a nice pebbling effect, the bands exhibiting the traditional oakleaves design, dagger suspension rings attached, 282 mm in length, with overall minor contact marks. Fine overall.
