A Unit Marked Police Long Bayonet by Clemen & Jung, Solingen

A Unit Marked Police Long Bayonet by Clemen & Jung, Solingen - This bayonet is veteran "bring back". Measuring 455 mm in length with the scabbard on, this Police bayonet features a nickel-plated steel blade, magnetic, with a full-length fuller, exhibiting the usual in and out runner marks, with a very sharp tip. It is maker marked with the company's shield insignia on the obverse ricasso and maker marked "CLEMEN & JUNG SOLINGEN" on the reverse ricasso, missing its leather washer, measuring 318 mm in length and rating better than very fine. The obverse of the crossguard and quillon decorated in oak leaves, while the reverse is engraved "S. SCH. I. 492.". Simulated stag horn grips embedded on either side and held in place via two rivets, the rivets flanking an aluminum Police insignia which exhibits surface wear and contact marks, an additional hole in the grip butting the crossguard on the obverse, where an iron pin once appeared, the remainder of the pin evident on the reverse. Stylized eagle's head and pommel exhibiting the expected contact marks from active use, the dagger measuring 433 mm overall. Black leather wrapped scabbard is well-stitched along the seam on the reverse, obverse of the locket with a large screw holding the throat in place, reverse of the locket stamped "S. B. 564.", light contact present on the chape and locket, along with the leather body of the scabbard, the scabbard measuring 350 mm in length. Well-stitched 195 mm long leather frog held in place via the scabbard's frog stud, with a Police portapee (knot) in silver bullion and salmon-coloured embroidery, the attached cord fabricated from black leather with a silver bullion upper, the cord wrapped around the narrow area of the frog exhibiting fabric interruption in the bullion and is fully severed in one area and partially severed in another.
