A Sterling Silver RCAMC Presentation Plate to Lieutenant Colonel Murray - Sterling silver, marked "BIRKS STERLING" (Henry Birks & Sons, Montreal, Quebec), Canadian "C" hallmarked indicating the 925 standard minimum of silver, hallmarked with a standing lion, date marked "b" and coded "94/9" on the reverse, obverse engraved with the Royal Canadian Army Medical Corps insignia in the centre, inscribed "PRESENTED TO LT. COL. R.B. MURRAY, ED., CD." above and "OFFICERS OF THE ROYAL CANADIAN ARMY MEDICAL CORPS FEBRUARY 27, 1959" below, raised scalloped edge, 255 mm in diameter, contact marks and scattered tarnishing evident, very fine. Footnote: Major Murray, Royal Canadian Army Medical Corps, ED was mentioned in recognition of gallant and distinguished service in North West Europe by the King, as documented in the Supplement to the London Gazette 36994 of March 20, 1945, dated March 22, 1945, page 1571. He was recipient of both the Efficiency Decoration and the Canadian Forces' Decoration.
