A Socialist Romanian Army Officers Dress Dagger 1965-1989

A Socialist Romanian Army Officers Dress Dagger 1965-1989 - Romanian-made, measuring 318 mm in length with the scabbard on, this dagger has a chrome-plated steel blade, magnetic, double-edged diamond cross section, with un-sharpened edges and a semi-sharp tip, plain design, number stamped "25157" on the ricasso, exhibiting nice crossgraining and the usual in and out runner marks, the blade measuring 208 mm in length. The blade washer remains supple and is intact. The dagger has a brass crossguard with the quillon turning upward at one end and downward at the other, the brass ferrule with a blade release button, smooth white streaked synthetic grip plate, domed brass pommel, the dagger with light contact overall, surface wear on the brass hardware and measuring 306 mm in length. The scabbard is brass, illustrating the Socialist Republic (1965-1989) coat-of-arms inside a swelling frame on both sides, the throat held firmly in place via two screws, the two bands displaying oak leaves and acorns with large dagger hanger rings, light contact, the scabbard measuring 222 mm in length.
