A Second War RAD & NSDAP Document Group to Maerhert Family:   Documents of Georg Maerkert: RAD Paper, Luftschutz Identification, all in fine condition. Georg Erich Fritz Maerhert was born January 21st, 1914 in Kiel. He lived in Travemünde on Kaiserallee with his mother and worked as an hotelier. He volunteered for the RAD on November 1st, 1934 and was released on March 31st, 1935 when his mandatory term came to an end. He stood at 182 cm, had brown eyes and dark hair. The cover of the paper reads Freiwilliger Arbeitsdienst, and beneath it the slogan whoever serves under this sign has proven that he is ready to work for the reconstruction of our Fatherland. The second document indicates that he was training with the Luftschutzverbund to fight house fires in 1939   NSDAP Membership Card of Helene 1935 edition: 48 pages, in extremely fine condition The preface on page three reads: Party member, never forget that you are a representative of the National Socialist movement, of our world view. Others with create their image of the movement based on the impression you give them. So in your behaviour and your actions, be a National Socialist! Be to others an image of daring, of selflessness and discipline! Taken from a 1927 speech by Hitler. Pages 6 and 7 show the List of Honour of members of the party who died in the 1923 Beer Hall Putsch. Helene Maerkert was born December 10th, 1874 and became a party member on May 1st, 1933. She lived in Travemunde where she managed a hotel. The book shows she was a regular dues paying member until 1943.
