A Second War Imperial Japanese Army Paratrooper Badge

A Second War Imperial Japanese Army Paratrooper Badge - Golden Kite Badge, Measuring 39 mm x 94 mm, this fine quality five-colour embroidered badge features crisp detail, intricate stitching, with touches of gold bullion on the bird's perch and both wings, on green felt. Featuring crisp colours, in near mint condition. Footnote: Insignia were rarely worn on the smock and occasionally even when on home service. The IJA parachute qualification "wings" badge, instituted in September 1941, was the Golden Kite (Kinshi Kunsho), the messenger of the gods which legend says hovered over the battlefield dazzling the Emperor Jimmu Tenno?s enemies with its golden wings. It was worn centered on the upper right sleeve. Excellent example.Rare.
