A Scarce 1940 Single Decal SS Helmet
This is a rare example of a single decal 1940 SS helmet. Importantly, this steel helmet comes with a gray paint application and the SS emblem decal which remains fully visible and clear. The interior has an eight panel leather liner. The quality leather remains supple to the touch, size stamped on one panel "57". It comes with its original drawstring and is reinforced with a zinc liner band. The leather chin strap and buckles are aged but remain intact. The underside of the helmet is stamped "888" on the rear skirt, with "ET62" stamped on the skirt on the left side. All stitching is intact on the leather portions, with the exterior finish showing only normal period war. Overall, this scarce helmet stands in very fine condition. An prime example.
