Prussia, Kingdom. A Crown Order with Swords in Gold, 1st Grand Cross, c.1914

(Königreich Preußen, Kronen-Orden, 1. Klasse mit Schwertern). Instituted 1861. Type II (1867-1918). An outstanding example in 18kt Gold consisting of a large white Maltese cross with Gold inlay and boardering, obverse centre presents the Prussian crown with the motto of the German Empire Gott Mit Uns (God With Us) in a blue enamel surround, reverse centre with the royal monogram, surrounded by a blue enamel ring with the institution date 18 October 1861, with Gold swords that are screwed into order body, measuring 62.45 (w) x 67.7 mm (h), weighs 34.5 grams, accompanied by period sash, extremely fine and rare.
