A Luftschutz Service & Award Documents to Bernhard Reelfs - Service Book 31 pages, in worn condition; Award Document for Clasp to the Iron Cross 2nd Class, folded in half and showing wear; Document for Air Warden Honour Badge 2nd Class, folded in quarters and showing wear. Footnote: Reelfs was born March 23rd, 1890 in Jever. He was protestant and worked as a mason in his civilian life. He stood at 171 cm tall, thin build and blond. His wife was named Helene, a name she had in common with his mother.He underwent his medical examination on September 11th, 1939 and was ruled fit. He was based in Wilhelmshaven in Luftgau Command District XI. One note specifies that he was officially sworn in on June 22nd, 1941. There is an entry made retroactively about special training and education from 1935 to 1938. On December 1st, 1940 he was promoted to Truppfuhrer. For his service in the First War he received an Iron Cross 2nd Class and a Friedrich August Cross 2nd Class In 1914, and the Hindenburg Cross in 1935. He was dismissed from service on October 10th, 1943 when it was decided that he was unfit for continued service.
