A HJ KNife by Carl Julius Krebs, Solingen; This knife measures 256 mm in length with the scabbard on, steel blade, magnetic, marked "RZM" (Reichszeugmeisterei) and maker marked "M7/5" (Carl Julius Krebs, Solingen) on the reverse ricasso, with a semi-sharp blade and a dull tip. Blade exhibits faint scratches overall, common to extraction and return to the scabbard, and a natural shine, along with traces of surface wear, the blade measuring 27 mm x 143 mm. Black leather buffer pad remains intact, nickel-plated hilt fittings with embedded black celluloid plates on either side held firmly in place with two rivets, the obverse plate with a flawless enamelled HJ insignia, non-magnetic fittings, light contact on the pommel, measuring 247 mm in length overall. Black painted steel scabbard, light contact overall, red paint streaks evident on the closed end on the reverse, scabbard measuring 150 mm in length. Original black leather belt strap attached to the scabbard via two large rivets, reinforcing strap at the top with snap closure, leather remains relatively supple, exhibiting overall wear from active use.
