A First War Mark II Royal Canadian Horse Artillery Helmet

A First War Mark II Royal Canadian Horse Artillery Helmet - British-made, steel, non-magnetic, flat black finish, red rectangle above a navy blue rectangle painted on the front, the letters "R.C.H.A" painted in white on the blue rectangle (the colours representative of the Royal Canadian Horse Artillery flash). The protective edge of the helmet in a magnetic steel. Inside, steel-framed cradle supporting a blackened canvas liner with underlying burlap support and leather backer, mesh support with drawstring, stamped "H" over "502" ("H" indicating the manufacturer, W. Hutton & Sons Limited of Sheffield and "502" the steel batch number) on the underside of the helmet at the front, with the pressed fabric experiencing fragmentation and missing its rubber ring in the dome. The blackened leather chinstrap along with its hardware remains intact, the chinstrap impressed with the name "B. ROBBINS" with a faint naming of a forename in front ending "nce". Helmet measures 295 mm x 306 mm x 120 mm, exhibiting surface wear and light contact on the exterior, slight scattered undulation of the protective edge, light wear on the chinstrap, along with the aforementioned pressed fabric fragmentation and missing rubber ring in the dome, as worn.
