A First War Canadian Officer's Visor Cap Trench Art

A First War Canadian Officer's Visor Cap Trench Art - Fabricated from a brass shell casing, weighing 710 grams, marked on the bottom with four sets of markings: the British Broad Arrow insignia over a circled "1" over "10 6 16", "18 PR" over "II", "MD Co" over "EMT", and dated "1916". The sidewall of the shell is severed about 27 mm from the base, with an additional lip maintained on one side and adjusted to protrude away from the casing, and when turned upside down, forms the visor of an officer's cap, with a bronze Canada General Service collar tab representing a cap badge affixed to the front, along with Canada General Service uniform buttons affixed to either side representing the strap posts, with a strip of copper between the two with brass buckles symbolic of the leather strap that rests upon an officer's visor, measuring 50 mm x 103 mm. Light contact with scattered oxidation spots, better than very fine.
