A First War Canadian Medal Trio to the 49th Battalion

A First War Canadian Medal Trio to the 49th Battalion - 1914-15 Star (432412 Pte E. TOMLINS. 49/CAN:INF:); British War Medal (432412 A.S. SJT. E. TOMLINS. 49-CAN.INF.); and Victory Medal (432412 A.S. SJT. E. TOMLINS. 49-CAN.INF.). Naming is officially impressed. Un-mounted, dark patina on the BWM, oxidation spots on the Star, light contact, better than very fine. Footnote: Ernest Tomlins was born on August 9, 1888 in Grantham, Lincolnshire, England. He signed his Attestation Paper on January 6, 1915 with the 49th Infantry Battalion, in Edmonton, Alberta, at the age of 27, naming his next-of-kin as his father, William Tomlins on London, England, which was later changed to his wife, Grace Tomlins of Westcliffe-on-Sea, stating that he had three months previous service with the 19th Alberta Dragoons, that he was not married (he later married) and that his trade was that of Salesman.
