A Colonial Auxiliary Forces Officer's Decoration to the 65 Regiment

 A Colonial Auxiliary Forces Officer's Decoration to the 65 Regiment - Victoria, (Lt. COL. F.S. MACKAY 65th. REGt.) Naming is neatly impressed, hallmarks for London 1901, missing gilt otherwise very fine. Footnote: Lt. Colonel Francis Samuel MacKay was the Commanding Officer of the 65th Regiment Carabineers Mont-Royal from 1902 to 1907. He served with the regiment during the North West Rebellion, initially as a Sergeant but was promoted to Lieutenant at Calgary in 1887, he is entitled to the NWC Medal with no clasp. He was awarded the Colonial Auxiliary Forces Long Service Medal by GO.84 in 1904 , and the Colonial Auxiliary Forces Officers’ Decoration by GO70 in 1907.
