A Chinese Order of the Brilliant Star; 1st Class Grand Cross Set. - A 1930's Grand Cross: Four-piece construction, silver gilt and enamels, maker marked in Chinese and numbered "192" on the reverse, 73.5 mm x 74 mm, on a full-length sash; and Breast Star: four-piece construction, silver gilt and enamels, maker marked in Chinese on the reverse, 90.7 mm x 91 mm, vertical pinback. Each piece with three gilt stars above the central white enamelled star indicating the grade of 1st Class, crazing on the central white enamelled ray at 10 o'clock on the Breast Star, all other enamels are intact on both pieces, extremely fine. In its hardshelled case of issue, enamelled Republic of China emblem centering a gilt insignia featuring a cherry plum blossom on the lid, maker marked on the inside lid, yellow felt-finished platform medal bed with a recessed area for the Grand Cross and a slotted area for the Breast Star, creasing evident on the exterior wrap finish on the lid, case near extremely fine.
