A British War Medal to the 2nd Canadian Infantry; KIA - (A-10028 PTE. R. MASON. 2-CAN.INF.). Naming is officially impressed. Crisp detail, light contact, near extremely fine.  Footnote: Robert Mason was born on November 29, 1893 in Scotland. He signed his Atttestation Paper on February 26, 1915 at Ottawa, Ontario, stating that he was not married, that he had no previous military service and that his trade was that of Teamster. He was with the 2nd Battalion, Canadian Infantry (Eastern Ontario Regiment) when he was Killed in Action on December 29, 1915 and is buried at R.E. Farm Cemetery, near Ieper, Belgium. His service number on the medal and Attestation Paper says "A-10028" but is recorded on the Collections Canada and Veterans Affairs Canada websites as "410028".
