A Boer War and First World War Group of Four to the Royal Berkshire Regiment - Queen's South Africa Medal, 3 Clasps - CAPE COLONY, ORANGE FREE STATE, TRANSVAAL (4582 Pte A. HANCOCK, 2nd RL: BERKS: REGt); King's South Africa Medal, 2 Clasps - SOUTH AFRICA 1901, SOUTH AFRICA 1902 (4582 Pte A. HANCOCK. RL: BERKS: REGt); British War Medal (9925 PTE. A. HANCOCK. R. BERKS. R.) and Victory Medal (9925 PTE. A. HANCOCK. R. BERKS. R.). Naming is officially impressed. Un-mounted, original ribbons, very dark patinas on the silver medals, light contact, extremely fine. Accompanied by Medal Rolls (for the Queen's South Africa Medal with three clasps and the King's South Africa Medal with two clasps), along with his Medal Index Card and Medal Rolls (for the British War Medal and the Victory Medal) from the National Archives.   Footnote: Private Alfred Hancock served with the 2nd Battalion, The Princess Charlotte of Wales's (Royal Berkshire Regiment) during the Boer War in South Africa, earning him the Queen's South Africa Medal with three clasps (Cape Colony, Orange Free State and Transvaal) and the King's South Africa Medal with two clasps (South Africa 1901 and South Africa 1902). During the First World War, Private Hancock served with the 6th Battalion, The Princess Charlotte of Wales's (Royal Berkshire Regiment), earning him the British War Medal and the Victory Medal.
