A 1980 Polish Olympic Committee Participant's Medal - Bronze, obverse illustrating a standing nude male athlete, an olive branch in his raised right hand, inscribed "IGRZY / PUSKIE / 1980" to the left and "SKA-OLIM / MOSKWA / LAKE PLACID" to the right, reverse inscribed "POLSKI KOMITET OLIMPIJSKI" on the outer edge, with the five conjoined rings insignia of the Olympics at the bottom, the Polish eagle standing upon the centre ring, 72 mm, extremely fine. In its leatherette case of issue, Polish Olympic Committee insignia on the flap, interior plastic sleeve to house the medal, snap closure, case also extremely fine.Footnote: This medal was issued by the Polish Olympic Committee to athletes participating in the XIII Olympic Winter Games in Lake Placid, New York and in the Games of the XXII Olympiad (Summer Olympics) in Moscow, Union Of Soviet Socialist Republics.
