A 1845-46 Sutlej Medal to the  80th Regiment of Foot; DOD - 2 Clasps - FEROZESHUHUR, SOBRAON (CORPl JAMES GEEVES 80th REGt). Naming is officially engraved in large block capitals. Swivel scroll suspension, light contact, edge nicks, bruised, very fine. Accompanied by a Muster Roll for the 80th Regiment of Foot (dated July 30 to September 1846), Medal Roll for the Sutlej Medal and assorted research papers.       Footnote: 1957 Corporal James Geeves was born in St. Michaels, Hertfordshire, England. He enlisted on January 28, 1845, naming his next-of-kin as his mother, Elizabeth of St. Michaels and stating his trade as that of Bricklayer. He died on September 8, 1846 and was credited with seven Pounds, one Shilling and three Pence by the Paymaster. The Medal Roll indicates that he was entitled to the Ferozeshuhur and Sobraon clasps, as well as the Moodkee clasp, which is not with the medal.
