A 1807-1815 Order of the White Eagle with Crown; Duchy of Warsaw

A 1807-1815 Order of the White Eagle with Crown; Duchy of Warsaw - Cross Third Class with Crown, Type III (from period Duchy of Warsaw, 1807-1815), in Gold and enamels; cross measures 37mm x 37mm (crown measures 28x20mm), eagles between the arms enameled; crown was not prescribed by Statutes on this particular class, however, crown (in Gold, exquisitely hand made) and its fittings are contemporary, and perfectly matched to this cross, and undoubtedly worn as such; with full length of period neck ribbon, slightly soiled; worn cross, some chipping to enamels, overall in fine condition, and very rare. Footnote: Mostly likely of Saxon manufacture, as during that period Grand Duke of Duchy of Warsaw was Frederick Augustus I, King of Saxony, and the crown on the order is very simillar to the crown of the Duchy of Warsaw.
