What's a max bid?

1938 Physical Education Swimming Championships Award - Obverse with a white bakelite centrepiece illustrating the DRL (Deutscher Reichsbund für Leibesübungen) insignia, high relief, embedded into a circular wooden frame, inscribed in gold-coloured ink "Erste Große Deutsche Schwimm-Meisterschaften Darmstadt 8.-10. Juli 1938" (First Great German Swimming Championships Darmstadt July 8-10, 1938) on the reverse, 69.7 mm, crack to the left of the DRL insignia, near extremely fine. In its hardshelled case of issue, green leatherette exterior, the DRL insignia flanked by the inscriptions "Deutscher Reichsbund für Leibesübungen" (German Reich Federation for Physical Education) above and "Ortsgruppe Darmstadt" (Local Group Darmstadt) below on the padded inside lid, recessed black velvet medal bed, one scuff on the exterior, case also near extremely fine.
