Accompanied by copies of his Attestation Paper, Will and Casualty Report. Footnote: Thomas Barrell was born on August 11, 1887 in London, England. He signed his Attestation Paper on September 23, 1914, stating that he was married (Alice Mary Barrell), that he had no previous military service and that his trade was that of Iron Worker. He died of his wounds at No. 10 Casualty Clearing Station on April 30, 1916, likely due to wounds from gas at Ypres, and is buried at Lijssenthoek Military Cemetery, near Poperinghe, twelve kilometres west of Ieper town centre, Belgium.
