The Award Documents of Famed Bomber Ace Eduard Lindinger
An extensive set of award documents to Luftwaffe Ace Eduard Lindinger who received both the Knight's Cross and Luftwaffe Honor Goblet in 1942. Born in January 17th, 1915 in Sattlern/Bavaria, Germany; Lindinger, while flying with Kampfgeschwader 1 "Hindenburg" took part in Operation Paula, Dieppe Raid, the Battle of Dunkirk, Battle of Britain, The Blitz, Siege of Leningrad, Demyansk pocket, Battle of the Caucasus, Battle of Stalingrad, Battle of Kursk, and Operation Bagration. During this time, Lindinger reached the rank of Hauptfeldwebel. After the Second World War he served with the Bundeswehr from 1956 until 1965, where he reached the rank of Hauptmfeldwebel. Offered here are a set of documents and photographs representing Lindinger's actions during the aforementioned encounters. Award documents for the German Cross in Gold and Ehrenpokal, both with facsimile Göring signatures, promotion documents to Feldwebel and Oberfeldwebel, award document for pilot's badge, award documents for EKII, EKI, wound badge in black and eastern front medal, further included are award documents for Frontflugspange für Kampfflieger in bronze, silver, gold and gold with pendant, also included is Lindinger's Ausweis dated June 1942 plus a photo of Lindinger with Heer NCO wearing DKiG, the photo is signed on the reverse, all documents are very fine. Lindinger died September 1st, 2004 in Arnstorf/Bavaria, Germany.
