NSDAP Local Group Leader (Ortsgruppenleiter) Pre-1939 Visor

NSDAP Local Group Leader (Ortsgruppenleiter) Pre-1939 Visor - This fine quality cap has three rows of blue piping, with the body of the cap fabricated from a light brown cotton, featuring the classic high peak and rounded saddle-shaped sides. The band around its circumference is in the same light brown as the body, fronted by a silvered cockade, the outer edge of which is trimmed in red enamels with a black swastika in the centre, plus a bronze gilt aluminum NSDAP eagle insignia on the crown above. The visor is black vulcanfibre painted chocolate brown, with a silver bullion cord above, in two rows, knotted in the appropriate-style on the sides and held in position via pebbled gilt posts on both sides, the visor itself exhibiting paint chipping on the edge. The underside of the visor is also painted in chocolate brown. The dome itself has a orange-cream coloured rayon liner, with a clear diamond-shaped celluloid moisture shield, the "DEUTSCHE WEHMULZER" maker marked screen printed in silver on the dome's lining under the shield. Sewn immediately below the shield is an RZM NSDAP Production Label, numbered "706736", with the handwritten identification number "7205528" and stamped initials "F K". The sweatband is leather and is finished in the same light brown colour as the exterior of the cap, perforated along the front edge with five tiny rows of forty ventilation holes each, the underside of the sweatband at the front with an orange cork liner, the tie that binds the two ends of the headband at the rear having been lost to time. Overall, it measures 230 mm x 250 mm x 140 mm in height. The top and side of the cap exhibits light soiling with holes evident in numerous locations, while the orange cork liner on the underside of the sweatband at the front has fragmented, where most of it exists as only scattered pieces. Better than Fine.
