EM/NCO’s "Infanterie-Regiment List" Cufftitle
EM/NCO’s Wehrmacht/Army Cufftitle "Infanterie-Regiment List"; full size cufftitle, measures approximately 41cm (or 16 inches), and is sewn at the ends, as worn, and in slightly worn condition; it is of machine embroidered design on dark green wool. Footnote: "Infanterie-Regiment List" denotes the honorary name given to Infanterie-Regiment 199 in 1942 (formerly known as a Grenadier-Regiment). Pre-1939 Infanterie-Regiment 19 of the 7.Infanterie-Division was chosen to carry on the traditions of the WWI unit in which Adolf Hitler had served, Imperial Bavarian Reserve Infantry Regiment 16 List. In September of 1939 this tradition was passed on to the newly formed Infanterie-Regiment 199 of the 57.Infanterie-Division of which Infanterie-Regiment 19 had helped to form. In 1942 Infanterie-Regiment 199 was renamed as Grenadier-Regiment 199 List, and in 1944 the regiment was provided with a cuff title stating "Regiment List" - one of the only Army regimental units to be so honored during the entire war. Very scarce cufftitle.
