An Imperial Prussian Enlisted Pickelhaube 1916; 8th Regiment- This pickelhaube was brought back to Canada following the First War and was displayed in his home until acquired by a local collector in the 1970's. It has remained untouched since it was brought over to Canada. This excellent, untouched example features silvered zinc Prussian eagle on the wappenschield holding the sceptor and orb. The leather helmet is in overall excellent condition showing no serious cracking, wear or holes. The leather chinstrap, although delicate is intacted and is held in place by two large rosettes with original and still bright paint. The spike and metal base are affixed with four metal split pins evident on the interior. The full leather liner is intact, missing a single finger. The helmet is thoroughly marked. TCA.8. 1916 on the rear neck guard; A large 8 for size in the dome; a faint makers mark dated 1916; large 55. A true example and untouched example.
