A Second War Medal Pair to the Royal Canadian Engineers - Canadian Volunteer Service Medal; and War Medal 1939-1945. Mounted to a suspension with swing bar pinback, as worn by the veteran, original ribbons, dark patinas, contact marks, General Service Badge (sterling silver, numbered "437237, 15.2 mm x 22.5 mm, screwback) attached to the WM ribbon, better than very fine. Accompanied by his original Discharge Certificate. Footnote: B 5884 Sapper Thomas William Lapointe enlisted at No. 2 District Depot with the Royal Canadian Engineers, on September 24, 1940 in Toronto, Ontario. He was discharged a little over twenty months later, on June 4, 1942 at No. 2 District Depot, at the age of 47, as he was "Unable to meet the required military physical standards", credited with having served in Canada during the war.
